Lara Sarkissian is a Los Angeles-based composer, producer, and sound artist whose work bridges electronic music, Armenian folk traditions, and immersive sound design. Drawing from her Armenian heritage, Sarkissian explores themes of identity, memory, and diaspora through experimental approaches to sound and storytelling. She is a co-founder of the multidisciplinary platform and event series Club Chai, which foregrounds narratives from the SWANA region and other marginalized perspectives within the electronic music community.
Her solo projects span installations, performances, and soundtrack compositions, often characterized by rich, textured electronic landscapes interwoven with archival vocals, field recordings, and ritualistic motifs. Sarkissian’s innovative use of sound has been featured at international festivals and institutions, including San Francisco’s Gray Area, London’s Barbican Centre, and Berlin’s CTM Festival, earning her recognition as a leading voice in contemporary experimental music.
