Club Tee Gee is a historic neighborhood bar and nightclub located in the Atwater Village district of
Los Angeles,
California, United States. Established in 1946, Club Tee Gee has long been recognized as one of LA's classic watering holes, maintaining much of its mid-century charm and character. Originally opened by Tivadar "Ted" Geza and his wife
Marie, the name of the club is derived from Ted’s initials, T.G.
Over the years, Club Tee Gee has remained an enduring symbol of old-school
Los Angeles nightlife, renowned for its intimate, dimly lit setting rich with red vinyl booths, vintage lighting, and a timeless, welcoming ambiance that has drawn both loyal locals and curious visitors for generations. The bar has been family-operated for decades, with ownership passing down through the family line, which has played a pivotal role in preserving its authentic spirit and historic décor. Club Tee Gee holds an important place in LA’s cultural and nightlife landscape thanks to its genuine retro aesthetic, relaxed vibe, and strong sense of community.
The venue has served as a backdrop for countless personal stories, as well as for numerous film and television shoots, exemplifying its role as a quintessential LA locale. Its reputation as a neighborhood mainstay has only grown in recent years, particularly following a renovation and revitalization in 2019 by Nathan McCullough and Dusty Idol, current co-owners who partnered with the original founders’ descendants. This refresh maintained the beloved mid-century design while expanding the bar’s live music and DJ offerings.
Throughout its history, Club Tee Gee has remained at its original location at 3210 Glendale Boulevard, never relocating, but its interior and programming have evolved to cater to changing tastes while honoring its classic roots. Over the decades, Club Tee Gee has welcomed a wide range of talent, from internationally recognized DJs and musicians to notable local acts. Some of the distinguished artists and performers who have graced its stage or DJ booth include Cut Chemist, Shepard Fairey (DJ Diabetic), Peanut Butter Wolf, Z-Trip, and Dexter Story, as well as popular local musicians like Dead Meadow and
Lo Moon.
The bar’s open-mic nights and themed parties have also spotlighted emerging local talent, DJs such as Daniel T, Turbotito, and
Victoria Rawlins, and frequent collaborations with music collectives and labels like Stones Throw Records. The blend of established performers and up-and-coming artists has cemented Club Tee Gee as a musically diverse and culturally significant institution in
Los Angeles nightlife.
