Emerging from the UK dance scene in the early 1990s, Deep Blue—born Sean O’Keeffe—first gained recognition as part of the influential production duo Omni Trio before embarking on a successful solo career. His breakthrough single "The Helicopter Tune" remains a seminal anthem, celebrated for its cinematic soundscapes and intricate breakbeats.

Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Deep Blue became known for his meticulous production style, blending haunting melodies with cutting-edge rhythms. He has released influential records on legendary labels such as Moving Shadow, Partisan, and his own label Scale. Deep Blue's collaborations and remixes have expanded his influence, working alongside luminaries like Rob Haigh and forming the duo Black Rain with Blame.
