The Orb

The Orb is an influential British electronic music duo founded in 1988, initially comprised of Alex Paterson and Jimmy Cauty. Hailing from London, The Orb emerged as pioneering architects of the ambient house movement, blending lush soundscapes, dub rhythms, spoken word samples, and playful sonic experimentation. After Cauty’s early departure, Paterson continued the project, collaborating with artists like Thomas Fehlmann and Youth.

The Orb gained global acclaim with seminal works such as their debut album "The Orb’s Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld" (1991) and its follow-up "U.F.Orb" (1992), known for the hit single "Little Fluffy Clouds.
