Raisa K. is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersections of memory, body, and environment through multimedia installations, photography, and performance. Raised in a multicultural household, Raisa draws inspiration from personal histories and diasporic narratives, weaving intimate experiences into broader social and political contexts. After earning a Master of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design, Raisa has exhibited internationally in venues such as The Kitchen in New York, Museo Jumex in Mexico City, and Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
Her process often involves collaboration and community engagement, fostering dialogues around identity, resilience, and the possibilities of transformation. Raisa’s practice is rooted in material experimentation, utilizing found objects, archival materials, and new media to construct immersive environments that invite viewers to reflect on the intricacies of connection and displacement. Her work has been recognized with numerous fellowships, including the MacDowell Colony and the Joan Mitchell Foundation, and has been featured in publications such as Artforum, Frieze, and BOMB Magazine.
Raisa currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, where she continues to expand her exploration of memory and belonging.
