Mica Levi

Mica Levi, also known as Micachu, is a highly versatile and acclaimed musician, composer, and producer from the United Kingdom. Born in Surrey in 1987, Levi established themselves as a boundary-pushing figure in contemporary music, first gaining recognition as the lead of Micachu & The Shapes, an experimental pop trio celebrated for their unconventional use of sounds and DIY ethos. Trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Levi’s classical background informs their innovative approach to music-making, seamlessly blending genres from classical and electronic to pop, noise, and hip-hop.

In addition to their work as a recording artist, Levi has garnered widespread acclaim for their film scores, most notably for Jonathan Glazer’s "Under the Skin" (2013), which earned a BAFTA nomination and established them as one of the most original voices in film composition. Their subsequent scores for films such as "Jackie" (2016), for which they received an Academy Award nomination, and "Zola" (2020) have further cemented their status as an in-demand composer whose work is recognized for its emotive power and experimental textures. Throughout their career, Levi has collaborated with a wide array of artists across genres, pushing the envelope of contemporary music and embracing a fiercely individual artistic vision that continues to inspire critical and public admiration alike.
