Paul Meier

Paul Meier is a contemporary visual artist whose work explores the intersection of memory, place, and lived experience. Born in 1987 in Hamburg, Germany, Meier developed an early fascination with the transformative power of landscape and architecture, which would later become central themes in his art. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 2010, Meier traveled extensively throughout Europe and East Asia, drawing inspiration from diverse urban environments and cultural histories.

His distinctive practice combines painting, photography, and installation, often layering found materials and personal artifacts to evoke a sense of nostalgia and displacement. Meier’s work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows across Europe, including notable appearances at Kunsthalle Hamburg, the Vienna Contemporary Art Fair, and the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt.
