Joe Shmoo

Joe Shmoo is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the interplay between memory, identity, and the urban environment. Born in 1987 in Chicago, Joe developed an early fascination with street art, which heavily influenced their vibrant visual language and dynamic compositions. After earning a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Joe’s work quickly gained recognition for its bold use of color, textural experimentation, and irreverent humor.

Inspired by everyday encounters and pop culture, Joe’s practice spans painting, sculpture, and digital media, creating immersive experiences that invite viewers to question the boundaries between public and private spaces. Their work has been exhibited in galleries and public spaces across the United States and internationally, including shows in New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, and Tokyo. Joe continues to live and work in Chicago, where they are active in community arts programs and committed to fostering creative collaboration.
