Girl Unit is the alias of London-based producer and DJ Philip Gamble, who emerged as a pivotal figure in the UK’s forward-thinking electronic music scene. Rising to prominence in the early 2010s with releases on the influential Night Slugs label, Girl Unit quickly garnered attention for his distinctive blend of UK club sounds, incorporating elements of grime, R&B, house, and hip-hop. His 2010 single "Wut" became an underground anthem, celebrated for its haunting synth leads and emotive vocal chops, and remains a touchstone for a generation of producers.
