Las Dalias
Ibiza, situated near the village of San Carlos on the Spanish island of
Ibiza, is one of the island's most iconic nightlife and cultural venues. Originally founded in 1954 as a humble bar for local farmers by Juan Marí Juan, Las Dalias quickly established itself as a vibrant social hub for the community. Over the decades, its reputation blossomed, particularly during the late 1970s and 1980s, when the burgeoning bohemian culture and influx of international free-spirited visitors transformed it into a hotbed of music, art, and alternative lifestyles.
Las Dalias is perhaps best known for its legendary Saturday Hippy Market, which began in 1985 and soon became a staple for both locals and tourists, featuring artisan stalls, exotic food, and live music. The venue has managed to retain much of its rustic charm despite modernization, although it has undergone expansions over the years—to include a spacious garden, covered terraces, and dedicated spaces for concerts and night events—while always staying rooted in its original San Carlos location. Its open-minded ethos and commitment to fostering creativity have contributed to its longstanding cultural significance; Las Dalias is not only a nightclub, but also a gathering place for the island's alternative community, a cradle for emerging talent, and a symbol of
Ibiza's eclectic spirit.
Notable artists who have graced the stage at Las Dalias, both international and local, include Bob Marley’s son Julian Marley, flamenco maestro Raimundo Amador, celebrated Spanish band Ojos de Brujo,
Acid Pauli,
Satori, Chambao, El Niño Josele, The Wailers, emerging
Ibiza-based bands such as Joven Dolores, and internationally renowned DJs like
Nightmares on Wax and Guy Laliberté.
