Milica

Milica is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersections of memory, identity, and transformation. Born in Belgrade, she began drawing and painting at an early age, nurtured by a family deeply connected with music and literature. After studying fine arts in Belgrade and subsequently earning her MFA from a leading European art academy, Milica launched her career with a series of solo exhibitions throughout the Balkans and Western Europe.

Her practice spans painting, installation, and digital media, often incorporating found objects and fragments of archival material to create haunting, layered compositions that evoke both the personal and the collective. Recurring themes in her work revolve around the fractured histories of her homeland, the intimacy of everyday rituals, and the resilience of women across generations. Milica’s distinctive visual language—marked by muted palettes, tactile surfaces, and poetic symbolism—has garnered critical acclaim, leading to residencies in Berlin, Paris, and New York, as well as inclusion in notable museum and private collections.

Beyond her studio practice, she is active in community-based projects, advocating for cultural dialogue and experimental art education. Through a blending of tradition and innovation, Milica continues to challenge viewers to reconsider the past as a living force in the present.
