HIDRA is a multidisciplinary artist collective whose practice navigates the intersections of technology, ecology, and speculative futures. Formed in 2019 by a diverse group of visual artists, coders, and sound practitioners, HIDRA’s work is rooted in collaborative processes that fuse digital art, performance, and installation. Drawing inspiration from biological systems and mythological narratives, the collective’s projects explore ideas of metamorphosis, networked existence, and environmental fluidity.
HIDRA’s immersive environments frequently employ generative algorithms, interactive sculptures, and soundscapes to engage viewers in an intimate dialogue with evolving, hybrid ecologies. Their work has been featured in both established galleries and unconventional spaces across Europe and the Americas, with recent exhibitions including appearances at Ars Electronica, The Wrong Biennale, and independent festivals focused on climate art. With a name evoking both the multiplicity of their members and a commitment to adaptability and transformation, HIDRA continues to push the boundaries of collective artistic practice in the 21st century.
