Joeski, born in Brooklyn, New York to Colombian parents, is a DJ, producer, and remixer whose career began in the early 1990s. Recognized as a pivotal figure in the evolution of New York’s house music scene, Joeski first made his mark as a founding member of The Chocolate Factory DJ collective and a regular at landmark clubs such as The Limelight, Tunnel, and Palladium. Throughout the late 90s and early 2000s, Joeski became synonymous with the Latin-infused rhythms and soulful grooves of New York’s underground, releasing tracks on influential labels like Siesta, Junior Boys Own, and Ministry of Sound.
In 2001, he launched his own label, Maya Recordings, which soon became a respected imprint for top-flight house and techno, showcasing his own releases as well as collaborations with artists such as Chus & Ceballos and DJ Sneak. Joeski’s production style fuses smooth, hypnotic percussion, deep, rolling basslines, and global influences, earning him a devoted international following and a reputation for dancefloor-driven releases. With a discography stretching over two decades and remixes for heavyweights like Basement Jaxx and Nina Kraviz, Joeski continues to tour worldwide, headlining iconic venues and festivals.
Constantly evolving but never straying far from his house roots, he remains a vital force in global dance music, beloved for both his DJ sets and studio work.
