DROP Dance Society

DROP Dance Society is an interdisciplinary collective of movement artists founded in 2018 and based in Toronto, Canada. Merging contemporary dance, street styles, and improvisational performance, DROP explores the body’s ability to communicate across artistic and cultural boundaries. The core members, including choreographers, dancers, and sound designers, collaborate to create immersive works that challenge traditional stage settings by engaging audiences in site-specific and unconventional spaces.

With influences ranging from hip-hop cyphers to modern dance theatre, DROP’s projects often explore themes of identity, resilience, and community connection. Their performances have been showcased at events such as Nuit Blanche Toronto, the Festival of New Dance, and ArtSpin, gaining recognition for their raw physicality, inventive choreography, and commitment to inclusivity. Committed to fostering growth among emerging artists, DROP also hosts workshops and jam sessions amplifying diverse creative voices and further blurring the boundaries between performer and spectator.
