Born and raised in Amsterdam, Baikal emerged as a prominent figure in the electronic music scene through his deep, highly detailed approach to production and his emotive, melodic DJ sets. Drawing inspiration from a wide spectrum of influences, he crafts lush soundscapes where intricate rhythms and hypnotic grooves prevail. Baikal first gained international attention with releases on the influential label Maeve—a collaborative imprint founded alongside Mano Le Tough and The Drifter.

Tracks like "Just You and Me" and remixes for artists such as Ian Pooley established his reputation for warm analog textures and immersive storytelling on the dancefloor. His music regularly features on respected imprints including Innervisions and Afterlife, cementing his place among the higher echelons of Europe’s house and techno community. A regular at clubs like Panorama Bar, DC10, and Rex Club, as well as festivals such as DGTL and Sonar, Baikal is celebrated for extended sets that flow effortlessly between subtle introspection and peak-time energy.
