TILLATEC is a prominent nightclub located in the Netherlands, known for its vibrant atmosphere and dedication to showcasing cutting-edge electronic music. Established in the early 2010s, the club quickly gained recognition within the Dutch nightlife scene for its forward-thinking lineups, high-quality sound system, and immersive lighting experiences. TILLATEC originally launched in Rotterdam, taking over a repurposed industrial building that provided an expansive space for dancing and creative audiovisual installations.
In its early years, the venue was instrumental in bringing together underground music enthusiasts and fostering a diverse, inclusive community centered around electronic music. As word spread, TILLATEC gained a reputation as a hotspot for both local talent and international touring acts, solidifying its cultural significance not only in Rotterdam but among clubbers throughout the Netherlands. Around 2017, the venue underwent a major renovation, updating its interior design and sound technology, which elevated the clubbing experience and increased its capacity.
In 2021, TILLATEC briefly relocated to a temporary waterfront location due to redevelopment of its original site, before reopening in a new custom-built venue designed to maximize the acoustics and ambiance that had made the club famous. The new TILLATEC continues to thrive, hosting themed nights, label showcases, and experimental performances that support both the avant-garde and accessible side of dance music culture. Its impact is particularly felt in the way it has bridged local scenes and brought global attention to the depth of Dutch electronic music artistry.
Notable artists who have graced the decks at TILLATEC include internationally acclaimed acts such as Nina Kraviz, Ben Klock, Charlotte de Witte, Peggy Gou, and Dixon. The club has also featured world-class sets by Richie Hawtin, Amelie Lens, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Honey Dijon, and Floating Points. Local Dutch talents and mainstays like Joris Voorn, Job Jobse, Speedy J, Sandrien, and KiNK (who frequently collaborates with Dutch artists) have also performed, contributing to TILLATEC’s reputation as a breeding ground for innovative electronic music.
