Teragram Ballroom

INFO

Teragram Ballroom is a renowned nightclub and live music venue located in downtown Los Angeles, California, in the United States. Situated at 1234 West 7th Street, it occupies a historic building originally constructed in the 1930s, repurposed and meticulously renovated to become one of LA’s premier mid-sized concert venues. The venue officially opened its doors in May 2015, under the ownership and vision of Michael Swier—co-founder of legendary New York venues such as the Bowery Ballroom and Mercury Lounge.

From its inception, Teragram Ballroom quickly established itself as a vital addition to the city's thriving live music scene, celebrated for its intimate atmosphere, excellent acoustics, and commitment to delivering high-quality performances. Its location on the western edge of downtown LA enabled it to bridge the gap between the burgeoning nightlife of downtown and the musical legacy of other historic LA venues. While no major changes in location have occurred, the internal layout, sound system, and staging were all enhanced during its initial renovation to provide an optimal experience for both performers and audiences.

Teragram Ballroom has earned a reputation not only as a launchpad for emerging local artists but also as a must-play stage for acclaimed international acts, often serving as the site of secret gigs, tour warm-up shows, and artist residencies. Its cultural significance is amplified by its embrace of a diverse array of genres, hosting everything from indie rock and hip-hop to electronic and experimental music, and its ability to attract music lovers from across the city. Over the years, the venue has become a symbol of artistic vitality in Los Angeles, reflecting the city's role as a dynamic music capital.

Notable artists who have performed at Teragram Ballroom include international stars such as LCD Soundsystem, The Breeders, Phoenix, Tame Impala, Gary Numan, St. Vincent, Liz Phair, and Spoon. Local favorites and influential Los Angeles-based acts that have graced its stage include Kamasi Washington, Ty Segall, Chicano Batman, Moses Sumney, Phoebe Bridgers, Warpaint, and Anderson .Paak, making it a true crossroads for both established and up-and-coming talent.
