Sameheads is a unique nightclub and cultural hub located in
Berlin, Germany, renowned for its eclectic programming, inclusive ethos, and commitment to underground music and art. Originally founded by three British brothers in 2008, Sameheads began as a second-hand clothing shop and creative collective in
Berlin’s Neukölln district before evolving into a full-fledged nightclub and bar in the early 2010s. Developing out of the city’s punk, DIY, and rave traditions, Sameheads quickly earned a cult reputation both locally and internationally for its boundary-pushing parties, gender-inclusive events, and multidisciplinary approach blending visual arts, fashion, and music.
The club was among the first in
Berlin to fully embrace a non-commercial, community-driven model, emphasizing experimental electronic music, video installations, and free-spirited, inclusive gatherings. Over time, the physical space of Sameheads has undergone several renovations and iterations, with expansions to support larger crowds, a more robust bar area, and a labyrinthine dancefloor that retains its celebrated low-ceilinged, living-room intimacy. Despite changes to its layout and facilities, the venue has never strayed far from its original spot, remaining a staple of the Neukölln nightlife scene and operating as a creative residency and gallery space by day.
Sameheads has played host to a wide spectrum of artists over the years, spanning electro, techno, synth-pop, experimental, and avant-garde genres. Notable acts and DJs from both the local
Berlin scene and abroad have graced its decks and performance spaces, including Helena Hauff, Lena Willikens, Umfang, Intergalactic Gary, Telekom Electronic Beats, SASHA, Nite Fleit, Alek Lee, Rroxymore, and local collectives like Italo Brutalo, Telephones, Paramida, and DJ Normal 4, among many others.
