Info

Pop Brixton is a vibrant community space and nightlife venue located in the heart of Brixton, South London, United Kingdom. The project launched in 2015, repurposing disused land off Brixton Station Road into a thriving hub for independent businesses, street food vendors, and creative enterprises, with a particular emphasis on supporting local entrepreneurs and community initiatives. Designed primarily with stacked shipping containers, Pop Brixton’s innovative and eco-friendly structure quickly became a notable example of sustainable urban regeneration, boosting the local economy and providing affordable workspaces and venues for both start-ups and established brands.

Over the years, Pop Brixton has earned a reputation for its eclectic atmosphere, diverse events programming, and commitment to reflecting Brixton's multicultural roots. Its open and inclusive ethos has made it a cornerstone of the area’s social scene, drawing crowds for everything from food festivals to live music and club nights. While the venue itself has not changed locations, it has continually adapted, expanding its structures and event offerings to accommodate a growing audience and evolving community needs.

Its focus on local talent, emerging creatives, and grassroots projects has cemented Pop Brixton as a culturally significant space in London’s dynamic nightlife landscape. Notable artists and DJs who have performed at Pop Brixton include local talents such as Brixton-based DJ collective BORN N BREAD, South London singer-songwriter Jords, and Afrobeat group The Compozers, as well as international performers including UK chart-toppers Krept & Konan and eclectic world music acts like K.O.G & The Zongo Brigade. The venue has also hosted popular DJ sets from international guests such as Gilles Peterson and DJ Edu, and frequent appearances from up-and-coming grime, hip-hop, and world music artists, making it a vital launchpad for new talent alongside established names.
