Our Wicked Lady is a renowned nightclub and rooftop bar located in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City. Established in 2015, the venue quickly became a staple in Brooklyn’s vibrant nightlife scene, known for its unique blend of music, arts, and community-driven ethos. Conceived by Zach Glass and Andy Bodes, Our Wicked Lady was built on the idea of providing affordable creative space for musicians and artists, transforming a former industrial warehouse into a multi-purpose venue that houses artist studios, rehearsal rooms, and a spacious rooftop bar.
The venue garnered a loyal following for its wide range of live music events, which span genres from indie rock and electronic to punk and hip-hop, offering a platform for both emerging talent and established acts. Our Wicked Lady has built a reputation not only for its energetic nightlife but also for fostering a supportive environment for local artists and musicians. With its gritty, industrial aesthetic and panoramic views of Manhattan from its rooftop, the venue stands out as a cultural hotspot that reflects Brooklyn’s ever-evolving artistic landscape.
Over the years, Our Wicked Lady has become synonymous with the DIY music scene, hosting regular shows, seasonal rooftop parties, and community events such as flea markets and pop-up markets. As of now, the venue has remained at its original location at 153 Morgan Avenue, expanding its event offerings but maintaining its core commitment to the arts and nightlife community. Structurally, the space has seen upgrades to its sound system and rooftop facilities but retains much of its raw, warehouse charm.
Some of the notable artists who have performed at Our Wicked Lady include internationally recognized acts such as Japanese Breakfast, Sunflower Bean, and DIIV, as well as Brooklyn favorites like Bodega, Gustaf, and The Wants. The venue has also served as a launchpad for numerous local and underground artists, including bands like A Place to Bury Strangers, Native Sun, and Godcaster, solidifying its reputation as an incubator for cutting-edge talent in New York’s music scene.
