Oasis is a highly regarded nightclub located in the vibrant heart of San Francisco, California. Established in 2015, Oasis was founded by cabaret performer D’Arcy Drollinger and business partners with the vision to create an inclusive and celebratory space for the city’s LGBTQ+ community and its allies. The venue quickly became a cultural landmark, celebrated both for its eclectic programming and its commitment to showcasing drag performance, live theater, dance parties, and a wide variety of queer-centric events.
Oasis stands on the site of the former SoMa dance club, the Oasis Nightclub and Lounge (not related to the current venue), and has inherited a building that dates back to 1920s, giving it both a sense of history and an industrial-chic charm that attracts diverse crowds. Since its inception, Oasis has played an essential role in the cultural fabric of San Francisco, serving not just as a nightclub but as a community gathering point, and has been instrumental in keeping drag culture and live queer performance thriving in an era when such spaces have become increasingly rare. The venue is especially notable for its immersive drag revues, brunch parties, and themed nights, drawing both locals and visitors attracted by its reputation for authenticity and joyful expression.
Over the years, Oasis has seen renovations to its stage, lighting, and audience areas to accommodate ambitious productions, but it has remained in its original South of Market location, preserving the intimate, welcoming environment for which it is loved. The club’s regular programming and annual events, such as the "Mother" drag contest and the "Princess" party, have become traditions in the city's nightlife scene. Oasis has welcomed an array of notable artists from the international drag and LGBTQ+ entertainment scenes, as well as San Francisco's own legendary performers.
Among the stars who have graced the Oasis stage are RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni including Alaska Thunderf*ck, Jinkx Monsoon, Bob the Drag Queen, Trixie Mattel, and Bianca Del Rio, along with local icons such as Heklina, Peaches Christ, and D’Arcy Drollinger herself. The venue has also hosted acclaimed musical performers, cabaret acts, and comedians like Lady Bunny, Dina Martina, and Justin Vivian Bond, cementing its status as a premier West Coast stage for queer and alternative artistry.
The capacity of Oasis is 500.
