Info

Marquee is a renowned nightclub brand in the United States, most notably associated with its flagship location in New York City. Opening its doors in December 2003 in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, Marquee quickly became a central hub for nightlife enthusiasts, celebrities, and top-tier DJs. The venue was the brainchild of hospitality visionaries Jason Strauss and Noah Tepperberg, whose goal was to blend the glamour of a high-energy nightclub with the intimacy and exclusivity of a boutique lounge.

Marquee's sleek, sophisticated environment and attention to high-quality sound and lighting established it as a pioneer during the height of New York's club culture renaissance in the early 2000s. The club’s reputation grew not just for its glitzy crowd and VIP experience, but also for consistently booking world-class musical talent, helping define New York’s burgeoning electronic music scene. Its cultural significance lies in being a trendsetter in nightlife operations—its success inspired similar concepts across the country and the world, and it helped cement New York as a destination for international DJ talent.

Over the years, Marquee went through a major structural overhaul, temporarily closing in 2012 for renovations and reopening in January 2013 with a refreshed, Las Vegas-inspired design and a stronger focus on electronic dance music (EDM). The Marquee brand also expanded west, with a sister location opening at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in 2011, becoming one of the largest and most influential nightclubs on the Las Vegas Strip, notable for its multi-level layout, sprawling dance floors, and luxurious cabanas. Throughout its storied history at both its original New York and Las Vegas outposts, Marquee has welcomed an impressive roster of world-renowned artists and DJs including Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Calvin Harris, Kaskade, Eric Prydz, David Guetta, Above & Beyond, Pete Tong, Dash Berlin, and Chuckie.

Local favorites and New York mainstays such as Jonathan Peters, Boris, and DJ Vibe have also performed at the venue, alongside live acts and surprise celebrity guest appearances that add to Marquee’s lasting allure in the United States nightclub scene.
