Good Room is a renowned nightclub located in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, United States. Since opening its doors in 2014 in the former space of the iconic club Europa, Good Room quickly established itself as a staple within New York’s vibrant nightlife and electronic music scenes. Designed by nightlife veterans Steve Tzouramanis and club manager Ron Castellano, Good Room was envisioned as a safe, inclusive, and musically-driven haven for both partygoers and artists.
The space itself features a large main room with an expertly engineered sound system and minimalist, industrial décor, as well as a smaller, more intimate side room known as the Bad Room, often reserved for up-and-coming or experimental acts. The club’s ethos is rooted in providing a platform for diverse sounds, community-centric music culture, and a respectful, welcoming atmosphere, setting it apart from many of its counterparts in New York’s competitive dance music landscape. Culturally, Good Room is celebrated for its adventurous bookings and dedication to underground electronic and dance music.
It has garnered a sterling reputation not only for the quality of its programming but also for the inclusiveness of its party environment, frequently working with local collectives, LGBTQ+ promoters, and forward-thinking event producers. This has contributed to its standing as a site of creative exchange and cultural significance within the city. Over time, Good Room has maintained its original location at 98 Meserole Avenue, but the venue has seen some structural and design updates to enhance the listening and dancing experience, such as improvements to the sound system and lighting.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which temporarily shuttered many nightlife spaces, Good Room managed to endure through community fundraising efforts and a shared sense of loyalty from artists and patrons alike. Throughout its history, Good Room has played host to an impressive roster of both international icons and local heroes from the realms of house, techno, disco, and beyond. A sampling of notable artists who have appeared at Good Room includes The Black Madonna (now known as The Blessed Madonna), Ben UFO, Floating Points, Honey Dijon, Yaeji, Octo Octa, DJ Harvey, Derrick Carter, Juan MacLean, LCD Soundsystem’s Nancy Whang, Optimo, Fred P, Galcher Lustwerk, and The Juan MacLean.
Local collectives and DJs like Working Women, Justin Strauss, and Aurora Halal have also been significant fixtures, reflecting Good Room's commitment to supporting New York’s homegrown talent alongside celebrated global names.
The capacity of Good Room is 500.
