Info

Frannz Club, located at Schönhauser Allee 36 in Berlin’s vibrant Prenzlauer Berg district, is a multifaceted nightclub and event venue with a rich history stretching back over a century. The club’s origins trace to the “Franz-Club,” founded in 1874 as part of the legendary KulturBrauerei (brewery complex) that once produced Berlin’s Schultheiss beer. After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the gradual redevelopment of Prenzlauer Berg, the Frannz Club re-emerged in 1997, relocating within the historic KulturBrauerei site.

Over the decades, Frannz Club has stood as an emblem of Berlin's constantly evolving nightlife scene, blending historical charm with contemporary energy. The club is renowned not just for its dance floors and DJ sets, but also for its live concerts, parties, and a warm, community-centric atmosphere embraced by people of all ages. Its versatility is reflected in an eclectic program featuring indie, rock, pop, electronic, and alternative acts, as well as regular swing, salsa, and other theme parties that attract both locals and international guests alike.

Architecturally, Frannz Club has maintained elements of its rustic past, with exposed brick walls and industrial flourishes evoking its brewery heritage, complemented by modern sound and lighting systems. Over time, minor renovations have modernized the venue while retaining its unique character. The club’s significance extends beyond music—serving as an anchor for Berlin’s creative scene, a gathering spot for social and cultural initiatives, and a living reminder of Prenzlauer Berg’s transformation from working-class neighborhood to creative hub.

Notable artists who have graced Frannz Club’s stage include international acts such as Ed Sheeran, Tom Odell, Kodaline, and Norway’s Bernhoft, as well as local favorites like Clueso, Mia., Megaloh, and Jennifer Rostock. The venue also frequently hosts up-and-coming Berlin talent, solidifying its reputation as both a launchpad for new artists and an intimate setting for established acts seeking a close connection with their audience.
