Originally founded at its current 375 Eleventh Street location, DNA Lounge began as a smaller club, but underwent significant expansions and renovations, particularly after 2001 when the venue was purchased by Internet entrepreneur Jamie Zawinski. Zawinski's ambitious overhaul included state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, a second stage known as the "Dazzle Room," and the addition of a full-service pizzeria, DNA Pizza, enhancing the venue's appeal and versatility.
