Circle Line Cruises is not a traditional nightclub but rather an iconic sightseeing company based in New York City, renowned for offering boat tours and special event cruises around Manhattan and the greater New York Harbor. Established in 1945, Circle Line has cultivated a unique reputation in the city’s cultural and entertainment landscape, becoming much more than just a sightseeing service. Over the decades, Circle Line Cruises has been pivotal in providing both locals and international visitors exceptional views of New York’s landmarks and skyline.
However, the company also carved a niche for itself as a dynamic floating venue for various themed events, live concerts, and nightlife experiences, particularly during the summer months. Unlike stationary nightclubs, Circle Line transforms its fleet of retrofitted vessels into vibrant floating nightclubs for special parties, DJ nights, and live entertainment, featuring state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems amidst the backdrop of New York’s waters. The cruise line’s home has always been at Pier 83 on the Hudson River, though its fleet has evolved significantly from modest ships to modern, multi-deck vessels equipped to host large-scale events.
Over time, Circle Line has expanded its offerings, from simple harbor cruises to extravagant parties that attract a young, cosmopolitan crowd eager for a distinct blend of music and scenery. The floating nightclub experiences on Circle Line Cruises have become a summer tradition for many New Yorkers and tourists, celebrated for their lively atmosphere and inimitable views of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, and Empire State Building. These events have contributed to the city's nightlife by bridging tourism, music, and dance culture in a one-of-a-kind setting that captures the spirit and diversity of New York.
International and local artists who have performed at Circle Line Cruises events include legendary DJ Mark Ronson, dance music icon A-Trak, eclectic beat-maker Questlove, disco revivalists Escort, indie-pop band MisterWives, New York house DJ Eli Escobar, as well as influential electronic acts like The Knocks and Holy Ghost!. Local heroes from the NYC music scene, including DJ Spinna and renowned hip hop DJ Stretch Armstrong, have graced the decks, keeping the energy high and the dance floor (or deck!) packed.
The capacity of Circle Line Cruises is 500.
