Tj McAu

Tj McAu is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersections of emotion, memory, and place through a vibrant interplay of media. Drawing inspiration from urban landscapes, personal histories, and the textures of everyday life, McAu’s practice spans painting, collage, found-object sculpture, and digital installations. Their art is characterized by an intuitive layering process, often integrating textural contrasts and subtle references to social narratives.

After earning a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, McAu has exhibited widely in group and solo exhibitions across the United States and internationally, drawing praise for thought-provoking pieces that invite introspection and dialogue. McAu continues to push the boundaries of material and meaning from their studio in Brooklyn, New York, where they also mentor emerging artists and engage in community-based art projects.
