Lauren Yoon

Lauren Yoon is a contemporary visual artist whose work explores the intersections of memory, identity, and cultural heritage. Growing up between Seoul and Los Angeles, Yoon draws inspiration from her bicultural upbringing, channeling themes of displacement and belonging into her mixed media paintings and installations. Her practice is characterized by an innovative use of color, layered materials, and personal symbolism, resulting in evocative compositions that invite viewers to engage with the complexities of self and community.

Yoon holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and her work has been exhibited in galleries and institutions across the United States, South Korea, and Europe. Her art has garnered recognition through several residencies and awards, affirming her as a compelling voice in contemporary art. Currently based in New York, Yoon continues to expand her practice, delving into new media and collaborative projects while maintaining a focus on storytelling and the embodied experience of migration.
