Tessela, the moniker of Ed Russell, is a British electronic music producer and DJ known for his innovative fusion of UK dance music genres. Emerging in the early 2010s, Tessela quickly gained recognition for his rhythmic experimentation, drawing on elements of jungle, breakbeat, techno, and bass music. Tracks like "Hackney Parrot" (2013) became underground anthems, celebrated for their chopped breakbeats and distinctive vocal manipulations.

Tessela has released on acclaimed labels such as R&S Records, XL Recordings, and his own imprint Poly Kicks, which he co-founded with his brother, Truss (Tom Russell). His work often explores the intersection of UK rave nostalgia and contemporary club sounds, characterized by driving beats and textural complexity. In addition to solo productions, Tessela has collaborated with his brother as Overmono, a project blending their individual styles into critically acclaimed releases and live performances.
