Taylor Cherry

Taylor Cherry is an emerging visual artist whose practice fuses contemporary painting, mixed media, and digital collage to explore personal identity, memory, and the quietly subversive power of everyday objects. Born in 1995 in Portland, Oregon, Cherry grew up surrounded by the contrasting energies of wild natural landscapes and bustling urban life, influences that continue to shape her vibrant compositions. She earned her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2018, where she was awarded the Merit Scholarship for innovative use of materials.

Cherry’s work is marked by bold color palettes, unexpected textures, and an intuitive layering process that invites viewers into an intimate dialogue about nostalgia, transformation, and belonging. Her pieces have been exhibited in group shows nationally, most recently at the New Wavelength Gallery in Los Angeles and the River + Stone Collective in Brooklyn. Outside the studio, Cherry is an outspoken advocate for arts accessibility and frequently volunteers with community youth programs, sharing her belief that creativity is a tool for both individual healing and social connection.

She currently lives and works in Seattle, Washington.
