TapeOut is a multidisciplinary artist collective formed in 2019 by a group of friends passionate about pushing the boundaries of DIY culture, analog collage, and urban interventions. Based in Berlin and New York, TapeOut experiments with tape, found materials, and obsolete media to create vibrant installations, site-specific wall pieces, and spontaneous public art interventions. Their work draws inspiration from architectural geometry, punk zines, 1980s street art, and the flux of urban life, transforming overlooked city corners and gallery walls into explosions of color and playful abstraction.
Marked by a collaborative spirit, TapeOut blurs the lines between individual and collective authorship, inviting viewers to interact with and even alter the work in real time. Since their inception, they have exhibited at emerging art fairs in Europe and indie spaces across the US, earning recognition for their dynamic energy and cheeky subversion of conventional art materials. Always experimenting, TapeOut sees their practice as an open conversation about access, ephemerality, and the joyful potential of creative action in everyday spaces.
