Steven Shade

Steven Shade is a contemporary visual artist based in Germany, whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, and installation. Born in Berlin in 1989, Shade developed a unique artistic voice shaped by the city’s vibrant street art scene and the enduring influence of postwar German Expressionism. His works often explore themes of identity, memory, and urban transformation, utilizing bold color palettes and dynamic forms to evoke a sense of movement and emotional intensity.

Since graduating from the Berlin University of the Arts in 2012, Shade has exhibited widely across Europe, participating in solo and group shows in Berlin, Munich, Paris, and Amsterdam. His art challenges viewers to reconsider the boundaries between private experience and public space, and reflects his ongoing interest in the dialogues between tradition and innovation.
