Stateless

Stateless is an innovative electronic band from the United Kingdom, formed in Leeds in 2002 by vocalist and songwriter Chris James. Known for their genre-blurring fusion of electronic, alternative rock, trip hop, and glitch music, Stateless has built a reputation for cinematic soundscapes and emotionally charged songwriting. The group’s lineup has included key members such as DJ kidkanevil (Gerard Roberts), Justin Percival, and David Levin, who have contributed to the experimental and evolving textures for which the band is celebrated.

Their self-titled debut album, released in 2007 on Sony Music, showcased their knack for seamlessly blending digital production with organic instrumentation. Stateless further garnered acclaim with their second studio album, "Matilda" (2011), released on the respected German label Ninja Tune, which saw the band venture into more ambitious arrangements and collaborations with artists including Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond).
