Smallpeople

Smallpeople are a German electronic music duo comprised of Julius Steinhoff and Just von Ahlefeld, also known as Dionne, who have garnered international acclaim for their warm, soulful take on deep house. Emerging from Hamburg’s vibrant underground music scene, they are not only celebrated producers and DJs but also the co-founders of the influential Smallville Records, a label and vinyl shop that has been instrumental in shaping the city’s house music landscape since 2005. Known for their emotive, richly textured tracks and DJ sets that blend the classic with the contemporary, Smallpeople have built a loyal following through releases on their home label and others such as Underground Quality and Running Back.

Their 2012 debut album “Salty Days” and subsequent works skillfully showcase their distinctive sound, which marries dreamy melodies, hypnotic rhythms, and a deep, analog sensibility.
