Sha Ru

Sha Ru is a DJ and electronic music duo formed by She’s Drunk (Dario) and Rū (Ru) in Berlin, with strong ties to New York. Their music traverses the liminal spaces between bass, techno, breakbeat, and experimental club sounds, while infusing personal narratives and multilingual vocals. Renowned for high-energy live and DJ sets, Sha Ru are recognized for their DIY ethos, emotive storytelling, and immersive performances, creating a raw, boundary-pushing soundscape shaped by their backgrounds in punk and rave scenes.

Since their debut, Sha Ru have released acclaimed EPs and tracks on labels such as Black Acre, Standard Deviation, and International Chrome. Their work explores themes of migration, resilience, and identity, drawing inspiration from their own cross-continental experiences—Rū hails from Ukraine and Dario from Italy. Their visual and sonic productions often incorporate elements of activism and solidarity, particularly around LGBTQIA+ and Eastern European issues.

Appearing at clubs and festivals across Europe and North America, including Unsound, Berghain, and Boiler Room, Sha Ru have built a reputation for genre-defying sets and collaborative projects with other forward-thinking artists.
