Sanna Mun

Sanna Mun is a multidisciplinary artist whose evocative work bridges the realms of painting, sculpture, and installation. Drawing from her Korean heritage and personal experiences of migration, Mun’s practice explores questions of identity, memory, and belonging, often resulting in visual narratives that are both intimate and universal. Her art is characterized by a sensitive attention to materials—ranging from traditional ink and textiles to found objects—which are meticulously layered to evoke texture and emotion.

Since earning her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Mun has exhibited widely across Asia, North America, and Europe, garnering critical acclaim for her ability to merge contemporary techniques with traditional cultural motifs. Her recent projects investigate the echoes of home and displacement, inviting audiences into immersive environments that prompt reflection on the complexities of diasporic life.
