Plab On

Plab On is a multifaceted contemporary artist whose work spans painting, sculpture, and digital media, exploring the intersections between memory, urban life, and personal narrative. Born and raised in Manila, Plab On draws inspiration from the vibrant chaos of city streets, infusing their pieces with a dynamic energy that reflects both the challenges and beauty of urban existence. After studying Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines, Plab On began exhibiting in Manila’s independent art spaces in the early 2010s, quickly gaining recognition for their bold use of color and layered mixed-media compositions.

Their practice often involves repurposed materials sourced from everyday surroundings, blending found objects with gestural marks and digitally manipulated elements to blur the boundaries between the tangible and the virtual. Over the years, Plab On’s work has been featured in group and solo exhibitions across Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America, and they received the Ateneo Art Award for Painting in 2018. Committed to fostering emerging creative communities, Plab On has facilitated workshops and collaborative projects with youth artists, aiming to amplify voices from the margins and create space for dialogue through art.

Currently based between Manila and Berlin, Plab On continues to push the limits of mixed media experimentation, delving into themes of diaspora, resilience, and the fluidity of identity.
