PAPA (US)

PAPA (US) is the collaborative project of musicians Darren Weiss and Daniel Presant, forming in Los Angeles and weaving together threads of indie rock, soul, and heartland Americana. Known for their emotionally charged lyrics and energetic live performances, PAPA gained early attention with their 2011 debut EP "A Good Woman Is Hard to Find," and built on that promise with their full-length album "Tender Madness" in 2013. Weiss, previously the drummer for bands such as Girls and played with artists like Perfume Genius, steps out as vocalist and songwriter, grounding PAPA’s sound with his distinct baritone and dynamic intensity, while Presant’s melodic bass lines and production create a rich, driving backdrop.

Their music, often characterized by propulsive rhythms and anthemic choruses, explores themes of longing, resilience, and the complexities of modern relationships. Over the years, PAPA has toured widely, sharing stages with acts such as Fitz and the Tantrums, Cold War Kids, and Lord Huron, earning a devoted following for both their recorded work and charismatic shows.
