MHYSA

MHYSA is the experimental electronic music project of E. Jane, an interdisciplinary artist and performer based in Philadelphia and Baltimore. Emerging from the vibrant queer and Black creative communities, MHYSA crafts an evocative soundworld that draws inspiration from noise, R&B, hip hop, and avant-garde traditions, blending ethereal vocals with glitchy production and industrial textures.

Since the release of their debut album "Fantasii" in 2017 on Halcyon Veil, MHYSA has garnered critical acclaim for their emotionally intense, politically charged work that centers Black femme experiences and improvisational performance. Their subsequent releases, including "NEVAEH," push the boundaries of pop and club music, layering haunting melodies over experimental, collage-like beats and sampling. MHYSA’s performances are renowned for their immersive audio-visual elements and powerful presence, positioning them as a vital voice in contemporary underground music and art.
