Marvin

Marvin is a multidisciplinary artist known for his evocative explorations of memory, urban identity, and the intersections of technology and emotion. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Marvin developed an early passion for visual storytelling, influenced by the city’s vibrant music scene and its history of creative resilience. He earned his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2013, where his work in experimental painting and digital media earned early recognition.

Marvin’s art frequently blends analog techniques—such as collage, printmaking, and hand-lettering—with interactive digital installations, resulting in pieces that are both tactile and immersive. His exhibitions have appeared in galleries across North America and Europe, including the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Galerie X in Berlin, and the Toronto Media Arts Centre. Marvin’s practice is deeply collaborative, often working with poets, sound artists, and community groups to create projects that invite public participation and dialogue.

Drawing inspiration from hip-hop culture, industrial landscapes, and Afrofuturist philosophy, Marvin seeks to challenge traditional narratives and open new spaces for reflection on the modern human experience.
