Lena De Roose

Lena De Roose is a contemporary visual artist known for her evocative explorations of memory, landscape, and human connection. Born in Belgium in 1987, she developed an early fascination with both the natural world and urban environments, themes that frequently recur in her multidisciplinary practice. De Roose holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, where she honed her distinctive approach to painting, photography, and installation art.

Her work is characterized by subtle textures, layered compositions, and a thoughtful interplay of light and shadow that invites viewers to contemplate themes of transition and belonging. Over the past decade, De Roose has exhibited extensively throughout Europe and her work has been included in major group and solo exhibitions in Brussels, Berlin, and Paris. She has received several awards and grants, including the prestigious Young Belgian Art Prize.

De Roose currently lives and works in Gent, where she continues to experiment with new techniques and media, drawing on both personal narrative and broader cultural histories to inform her creative process.
