Laelo Black

Laelo Black is a multidisciplinary artist from the United Kingdom whose provocative and socially conscious works span painting, sculpture, and digital media. Born in Manchester in 1987, Laelo grew up amidst vibrant urban culture, heavily influenced by the diverse musical and visual landscapes of the North. After studying Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, Laelo emerged on the contemporary art scene with a distinctive aesthetic marked by bold colors, abstract forms, and the integration of found materials.

Black’s practice explores themes of identity, memory, and the politics of diaspora, often drawing on personal narratives and broader historical currents.
