Joe Hart is a contemporary artist based in the United States whose multidisciplinary practice merges painting, sculpture, and installation to explore notions of memory, perception, and the ephemeral qualities of everyday life. Drawing inspiration from urban environments, found materials, and the interplay between structure and spontaneity, Hart’s work frequently oscillates between abstraction and figuration. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and has exhibited his work in galleries and museums across the country, including spaces in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
Hart’s visual language is characterized by layered surfaces, subtle shifts in color and texture, and a sensitivity to the passage of time, inviting viewers to linger on moments of quiet transformation. Over the past decade, his projects have encompassed collaborative works, public art, and solo exhibitions, receiving critical acclaim for their poetic engagement with materiality and place. Hart currently lives and works in San Francisco, where he continues to develop new bodies of work that reflect his ongoing inquiry into the relationships between space, object, and viewer.
