Inez Akker is a Dutch multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, sculpture, and installation. Born in Rotterdam in 1992, Akker’s practice is rooted in explorations of memory, environment, and the ephemeral connections between people and place. After earning her BFA at the Willem de Kooning Academy in 2014, she developed a distinct visual language characterized by layered textures, bold color palettes, and an interplay of organic forms and geometric structure.
Akker’s art frequently incorporates found materials and experimental processes, emphasizing sustainability and the hidden narratives embedded in everyday objects. Her installations have been exhibited in galleries throughout the Netherlands and internationally, garnering recognition for their emotional resonance and immersive qualities. Alongside exhibiting, Akker leads workshops and collaborates with community organizations, using art as a tool for social engagement and regeneration.
She lives and works in Utrecht, continuing to expand her practice through residencies and cross-disciplinary projects around Europe.
