Horst Haller Profile Image

Horst Haller

Horst Haller is a contemporary German artist known for his evocative exploration of memory, identity, and landscape within his mixed-media works. Born in Munich in 1965, Haller began his artistic journey in the late 1980s, studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, where he received formal training in painting and sculpture. Over the decades, his practice has evolved to encompass photography, installation, and digital media, with a signature emphasis on texture and process.

Drawing inspiration from the shifting histories of urban and rural environments in post-reunification Germany, Haller’s pieces often juxtapose found materials and abstract shapes to evoke a sense of collective nostalgia. His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across Europe, and he has received several grants and residencies, most notably at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin. Today, Horst Haller continues to live and work between Berlin and Munich, where he actively engages with young artists through workshops and collaborative projects, cementing his reputation as both a creator and mentor in the contemporary art scene.
