Flip Marlou

Flip Marlou is an interdisciplinary artist whose evocative works span painting, sculpture, and digital media, exploring the interplay between memory, perception, and the built environment. Born in Rotterdam and currently based in Berlin, Marlou draws inspiration from the architectural landscapes of cities and the transient narratives embedded within them. After studying fine arts at the Willem de Kooning Academy, they developed a visual language characterized by layered textures, bold color palettes, and recurring urban motifs that engage viewers in dialogues about place and identity.

Marlou’s practice is notable for its fusion of analog techniques and emerging technologies, often incorporating found materials and experimental processes to challenge traditional boundaries. Their work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions across Europe and has garnered recognition for its poetic investigation of contemporary life and the subtle ways history echoes through everyday spaces.
