Deep Forest

Deep Forest is a French musical project founded in 1992 by Eric Mouquet and Michel Sanchez. Known for pioneering a distinctive fusion of electronic music with traditional world music sounds, Deep Forest quickly gained international fame with their self-titled debut album, which went on to win the Grammy Award for Best World Music Album in 1995. Their signature style blends atmospheric electronic beats with samples and recordings of indigenous peoples’ voices, creating immersive soundscapes that have captivated global audiences.

Over the following decades, Deep Forest released a series of acclaimed albums, including “Boheme” (1995), “Comparsa” (1998), and “Music Detected” (2002), each exploring new sonic territories and cultural influences. After Michel Sanchez left the project in 2005, Eric Mouquet continued to lead Deep Forest, collaborating with musicians from around the world and pushing the boundaries of genre-blending sound.
