Chopper

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Chopper found inspiration in the city’s rich electronic scene from a young age. Cutting his teeth at underground warehouse parties, he quickly gained a reputation for energetic sets that effortlessly blend house, techno, and breakbeat. After releasing his debut single “Night Shift” in 2016, Chopper caught the attention of local labels and began sharing stages with legends like DJ Minx and Stacey Pullen.

His 2019 EP, “Afterburner,” established him internationally, earning airplay on BBC Radio 1 and securing appearances at Movement Detroit and Berlin’s Tresor club. Known for his innovative use of vintage drum machines and sample manipulation, Chopper’s sound is both nostalgic and forward-thinking. Based in Detroit, he continues to mentor up-and-coming artists and hosts a monthly radio show, “Turbo Trax,” showcasing fresh talent and experimental grooves from the global underground.
