Carlos Lamar

Carlos Lamar is a multidisciplinary artist known for his dynamic exploration of identity, memory, and the interplay between urban landscapes and personal narratives. Born in Mexico City in 1988 and now based in Los Angeles, Lamar works across painting, sculpture, installation, and digital media, drawing upon the vibrant aesthetics and social complexities of both cities. After earning his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he honed his style through residencies in Europe and Latin America, infusing his work with multicultural symbols and a sense of movement.

Lamar’s projects often merge bold color palettes with found objects and layered textures, inviting viewers to reconsider the boundaries between public and private spaces.
