Alex Rush

Alex Rush is a contemporary painter and mixed-media artist born in Madrid, Spain, in 1988. Known for his evocative interplay between abstraction and figuration, Rush’s work is deeply rooted in the vibrant cultural fabric of his home city, often exploring themes of identity, displacement, and urban transformation. After studying fine arts at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, he developed a unique style that fuses bold gestures, layered textures, and a dynamic palette, echoing both graffiti traditions and classical Spanish painting.

Since his first solo exhibition in Barcelona in 2014, Alex Rush has shown his work in galleries throughout Europe and the United States, garnering attention for his emotionally charged canvases and immersive installations. In addition to his studio practice, he collaborates with grassroots community projects in Madrid, striving to make art accessible across social and economic divides. Rush currently lives and works in Madrid, where he continues to push the boundaries of contemporary Spanish art through experimentation and collaboration.
